Hallelujah!

In Flagrante was led by another amazing Musical Director, Amir Shoenfeld https://www.amirshoenfeld.com for our penultimate rehearsal of the year. Hallelujah was last performed live by In Flagrante in our Winter concert in 2017 with our resident Musical Director, Eamonn O’Dwyer conducting. https://www.eamonnodwyer.com

Amir asked us to sing it through to get a feel for what we had remembered. Indeed, we had a beginning, a middle and an end, although a little rusty. Therefore, back to the beginning and Amir took us through the song in easy stages for all parts ensuring we were singing the correct notes. With his experience of Musical Theatre, he added dynamics and just before the break, we performed it again, and, Hallelujah, it was a great success!

After refreshments, we tackled another song, The Rainbow Connection which we had learned on Zoom and a few of us had sung live when we were permitted to meet after the first lockdown. Again, we sang it through and Amir was impressed he had a good baseline to work from considering we hadn’t sung it for so long. It “probably was magic” that we did so well!
